A contracted opportunity is available in Paterson, NJ, at a middle school for an Educational Diagnostician and Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) to serve students in grades 5–8 during the current school year.

Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive formal and informal assessments to identify student learning strengths and needs, interpreting evaluation data, and preparing detailed diagnostic reports. You will develop, monitor, and revise Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) collaboratively with the Child Study Team. The role also involves providing direct and indirect instructional support by modeling strategies in classrooms and consulting with both general and special education teachers. Additionally, you will coach and offer professional development on evidence-based interventions, accommodations, and differentiated instruction. Serving as a liaison with parents and guardians to clarify evaluation results and IEP decisions is essential, as is participation in CST meetings and coordination of evaluation processes while ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal special education laws and timelines.

Qualifications include meeting New Jersey state licensure and certification requirements for LDTC roles. Preferred experience includes prior LDTC work within a middle school setting, proficiency in administering, interpreting, and reporting on standardized assessments, and familiarity with evidence-based interventions such as multisensory reading and executive functioning supports. Strong abilities to coach and mentor educators and excellent communication skills with parents are highly valued.
