Virtual General Education Teacher | New York

A part-time opportunity is available for a General Education teacher specializing in Italian to provide one-on-one instruction to a homebound high school student. This contract role requires delivering the Italian 1 curriculum, ensuring a tailored educational experience aligned with state standards.

Location: Centereach, NY
Position Type: Contract, Year-Round (Start ASAP through June 30, 2026)
Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week during the school day

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver Italian 1 lessons in a one-on-one setting to support a homebound high school student
• Adapt lesson plans and instructional methods to meet the individual needs of the student
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with relevant educational staff and families
• Ensure compliance with classroom teacher certification requirements and district educational standards
• Provide consistent support throughout the academic year

Qualifications:

• Certified as a General Education teacher at the high school level with an endorsement in Italian
• Initial Certification in Classroom Teacher – Foreign Languages: Italian (grades 7–12), or equivalent certification/license related to foreign language instruction in Italian
• Experience teaching high school students preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries in a home-based setting
