Educational Interpreter in Stone Mountain, GA

A high school is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) for the upcoming contract school year (CSY) in Stone Mountain, GA. This position involves facilitating communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers to ensure full access to the educational environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing accurate and effective sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and school activities
• Collaborating with educators to support students’ language development and academic success
• Adhering to professional ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines
• Assisting with the development and implementation of individualized educational plans (IEPs) related to communication needs
• Participating in team meetings and ongoing professional development as needed

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Proficiency and certification as an American Sign Language Interpreter
