A licensed practical nurse (LPN/LVN) is needed to provide general health room support for a K-12 school setting in Tampa, FL. This position is a contract role for the 2025-2026 school year, requiring onsite presence and flexibility to float between locations as needed within the district. The nurse will work up to 37.5 hours per week, with no more than 7.5 hours scheduled per day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily health room operations to support student health and safety
- Provide basic nursing care and first aid as needed during the school day
- Monitor and document student health conditions and maintain health records
- Collaborate with school staff and families regarding student health issues
- Comply with district health protocols and complete all required paperwork and credentials
- Willingness to float to various school locations within the Tampa area as assigned
Qualifications:
- Current LPN/LVN license or ASN degree
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably with pediatric or school-aged populations
- Ability to work scheduled hours between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM without conflict
- Comfort with and understanding of required health clearance processes, including district-specific background checks and print submissions
- Reliable transportation with commute preference clearly stated upon application
- Previous experience in school nursing or familiarity with school health protocols is a plus
