A part-time opportunity is available for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) serving high school students in Cranston, RI. This contract role offers a flexible schedule designed to accommodate your availability while providing a strong level of support in service delivery, collaboration, and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver orientation and mobility instruction tailored to students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement individualized strategies to ensure students' equal access and independence
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to enhance student participation and safety
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports consistent with program standards

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current Orientation and Mobility Certification (O&M Certification) is required
  • Proven ability to work effectively with high school students facing visual challenges
  • Strong commitment to fostering equal access and empowerment for students
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in special education settings preferred
