An opportunity is available for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support K-12 students during the 25/26 school year in Oakland, CA. This in-person, contract position offers approximately 20+ hours per week in a dynamic school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and provide specialized orientation and mobility training to students with visual impairments
• Develop individualized mobility plans to enhance student independence and safety
• Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to support student needs
• Conduct systematic evaluations and update progress reports regularly
• Ensure compliance with educational standards and best practices

Qualifications:

• Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) preferred
• Experience working in K-12 educational environments
• Strong knowledge of mobility techniques and adaptive equipment
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in person consistently throughout the school year
