A specialized opportunity for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide expert support to K-12 students in an in-person setting. This contract role, located in San Francisco, CA, is available for the 25/26 school year and offers a flexible part-time schedule with 20+ hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized orientation and mobility plans for students with visual impairments.
- Provide hands-on instruction to enhance students' independent travel skills within school and community environments.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to integrate mobility strategies into daily activities.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to meet evolving needs.
- Maintain detailed records in compliance with educational and regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) credential.
- Proven experience working with K-12 students in school settings.
