A specialized opportunity for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide expert support to K-12 students in an in-person setting. This contract role, located in San Francisco, CA, is available for the 25/26 school year and offers a flexible part-time schedule with 20+ hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and develop individualized orientation and mobility plans for students with visual impairments.
  • Provide hands-on instruction to enhance students' independent travel skills within school and community environments.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to integrate mobility strategies into daily activities.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to meet evolving needs.
  • Maintain detailed records in compliance with educational and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) credential.
  • Proven experience working with K-12 students in school settings.
  • Strong knowledge of techniques and tools supporting orientation and mobility for visually impaired learners.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with students, families, and educational teams.
  • Commitment to in-person service delivery throughout the academic year.
