An opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist to support K-12 students in a school setting in Birmingham, AL. This contract position spans the remainder of the school year, focusing on delivering essential therapy services to 11 students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services tailored to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
  • Deliver up to 20 hours per week during the first month to address make-up sessions, transitioning to approximately 15 hours weekly for ongoing support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress using a personal tracking system.
  • Collaborate effectively by forwarding updates to the special education case manager to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in IEP or eligibility meetings only under exceptional circumstances.
  • Utilize a dedicated workspace provided on-site to facilitate therapy sessions.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist with relevant experience in school-based settings.
  • Familiarity with K-12 student populations and educational therapy standards.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage schedules and documentation efficiently.
