An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Occupational Therapist to support a K-12 educational environment in Lowell, MA. This contract position offers the chance to work with a diverse caseload of students aged 3-19, specifically focusing on the deaf and hard of hearing population. The role is set to commence as soon as possible and extend through the 2025-2026 school year, with a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Occupational Therapy license
- 1-2 years of experience in school-based therapy
- Familiarity with ASL or a willingness to learn
- Previous experience with deaf/hard of hearing students is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educational staff
- Assess student progress and adjust therapy techniques as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions and student progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance overall student development
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
