This full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) position focuses on supporting high school students within a school setting in Gadsden, AZ. The ideal candidate will provide specialized occupational therapy services to enhance students’ functional performance and ability to engage effectively in academic and daily activities. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the therapist will contribute to individualized education plans and help foster student independence.

Location: Gadsden, AZ (High School)
Contract Type: Full-Time, School-Year (CSY) Contract
Duration: 9-Month Contract (August – May), with potential for renewal
Schedule: Monday–Friday, during school hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations to determine occupational therapy needs
  • Develop and implement IEP goals targeting fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and functional tasks
  • Provide direct individual and group therapy services to students
  • Collaborate with special education staff, teachers, and families to support student progress
  • Adapt classroom materials and environments to improve student access to curriculum
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school and state regulations
  • Participate in IEP meetings, sharing professional insights on therapy needs and student progress

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Arizona OT license or eligibility to obtain prior to start
  • Prior school-based experience preferred, especially with high school students
  • Knowledge of IEP processes and IDEA standards
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations in a school environment
