This position offers a contract opportunity for an Occupational Therapist (OT) to support K-12 students within a school setting in Irving, TX. The role primarily focuses on providing specialized OT services to help students develop the skills necessary for academic success, independence, and participation in school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify student needs related to fine motor, sensory processing, and coordination difficulties
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans tailored to student goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies
- Provide direct intervention during school hours to support student development and functional performance
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure or certification
- Experience working as an OT in a school or educational setting preferred
- Knowledge of pediatric OT techniques and school-based therapy practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
