An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic specialist to support students in an elementary school setting. This position is designed for the upcoming school year and will focus on providing therapeutic services to enhance the educational experiences of children requiring additional support.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience working in school settings, particularly with elementary students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educational staff
- Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and techniques
Location:
- Newport News, VA
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine student needs and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to implement IEPs
- Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on their individual goals
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions and outcomes
- Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to a supportive school environment
