An exciting contract opportunity is available for a full-time Occupational Therapist specializing in school-based services to provide maternity leave coverage. This role is located in Tulare, CA, and offers 37.5 hours per week, making it an ideal position for professionals seeking consistent, school-year employment.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering occupational therapy evaluations and interventions to students within a school setting.
- Collaborating with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Documenting therapy sessions, progress notes, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Implementing strategies to support student development in fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional performance within the educational environment.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to accommodations and modifications.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with current credentials to practice in California.
- Experience working in school settings providing occupational therapy services to children.
- Knowledge of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and school-based therapy protocols.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with students, families, and school staff.
- Ability to evaluate and design interventions that enhance students’ educational participation.
