School Occupational Therapist - Waukegan, Illinois

This position offers an opportunity to provide occupational therapy services at one elementary school, supporting students in their developmental and educational growth. The role requires a commitment to a contract for the current school year with an ASAP start, working Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week. The location is in Waukegan, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in participating in classroom activities alongside their peers, focusing on fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care skills
• Modify tasks or the environment to meet individual student needs
• Perform diagnostic and evaluation testing as necessary
• Produce clear, comprehensive reports based on student assessments and observations
• Develop and maintain IEP objectives and accommodations
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues about student progress and support areas

Qualifications:

• Must hold, or be eligible to hold, an Illinois state occupational therapy license
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Flexibility and problem-solving skills to address diverse student needs
