A full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) position is available to support high school students in a school-based setting in Yuma, AZ. This 9-month contract role, starting in August, provides an opportunity to contribute directly to students’ functional development and academic success during the school year.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations to assess students’ occupational therapy needs, developing and implementing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals focused on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and functional tasks. The OT will provide direct therapy individually or in groups and collaborate with special education staff, teachers, and families to adapt materials and classroom environments. Maintaining accurate documentation, complying with school and state requirements, and actively participating in IEP meetings are essential components of this role.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Arizona OT license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date
  • Preferably school-based experience, especially with high school students
  • Knowledge of IEP processes and IDEA regulations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt to diverse student needs within a school setting
