This contract position offers an opportunity to support a high school student in a 1:1 setting within a life skills program. The role requires a dedicated paraprofessional with strong classroom management skills and a passion for contributing to student success. The position is based in Augusta, ME, and is available immediately through the end of the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to a high school student with behavioral and special education needs
  • Implement behavior management techniques and assist with daily life skills development
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure a positive learning environment
  • Monitor and document student progress while maintaining clear communication with the educational team

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Minimum of one year recent experience working with children, preferably with behavioral challenges and Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Experience in special education classrooms or life skills programs is highly preferred

Work Details:

  • Contract position (W2)
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Immediate start through the end of the school year
