This position offers a vital role supporting an elementary school classroom in Independence, MO, covering a maternity leave from January 6th to March 27th. The educator will serve 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:25 PM, supporting students in a dynamic learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide paraprofessional or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Assist with classroom management and individualized instruction under the guidance of certified staff.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement behavior intervention plans and educational activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and follow confidentiality policies.
- Support the social and academic growth of students during the leave period.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Substitute or Paraprofessional Certification on the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) credential list, or active BACB certification if applying as an RBT.
- Previous experience working as a paraprofessional or RBT in an educational setting preferred.
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug screens, and complete district fingerprinting promptly.
- Reliable transportation to and from the school site.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate through virtual interviews and orientations.
