A temporary paraprofessional opportunity is available to support an elementary school setting in Lees Summit, MO. This contract role covers a maternity leave for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) from January 6th to March 27th, providing approximately 35 hours per week (9:00 AM to 4:25 PM). The position involves working closely with students requiring behavioral support and educational assistance within a structured classroom environment.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Substitute or Paraprofessional Certification registered with DESE, or active BACB certification if applying as an RBT
- Experience supporting elementary students, ideally within inclusive or special education settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff
- Ability to provide behavioral interventions or support in line with RBT protocols (if applicable)
- Reliable transportation and availability to undergo required background checks and drug screenings promptly

Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver paraprofessional or RBT services directly to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Implement behavior intervention plans under supervision (supervision provided for RBT certification holders)
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional tasks and classroom management
- Maintain accurate reports and documentation related to student progress
- Attend virtual interviews via Zoom as part of the hiring process
