This contract position offers a meaningful opportunity to work 1:1 with an elementary student in a life skills program. The role requires providing attentive supervision and support, including redirecting a student prone to eloping, ensuring their safety and engagement throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to an elementary student in the life skills program
  • Monitor and redirect student behavior to prevent elopement
  • Collaborate with classroom staff to implement individualized student plans
  • Assist with daily classroom activities and routines
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must hold or be able to obtain Education Technician II or III Licensure from the Maine Department of Education
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation necessary
  • Ability to successfully pass background check and drug screening
  • At least 1 year of recent experience working with children both inside and outside the classroom
  • Experience supporting children with Autism preferred

Location and Schedule:

  • Position based in Lewiston, ME
  • Contract position through the current school year (CSY)
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM
