Opportunities available for paraprofessionals supporting K-12 students in a contract position within the Kansas City area. These full-time roles focus on providing essential assistance across multiple schools specializing in various programs including Autism/STEPS, Life Skills, and Medically Fragile support.
Locations and Vacancies:
- TA Edison: 2 positions in Autism/STEPS programs (toileting assistance required)
- Frances Willard: Life Skills (toileting required)
- Argentine Middle School: 1 position in Self-Contained Classroom (SLC)
- Gloria Willis Middle School: 1 SLC and 1 Supplemental Aide 1:1
- Harmon High School: 1 SLC and 1 Para supporting Medically Fragile students
- Washington High School: Life Skills/STEPS support
- Wyandotte High School: Collaboration/SLC
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with academic, social, and emotional needs within specialized and inclusive classroom settings
- Support toileting and other personal care requirements as necessary
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Previous paraprofessional experience in a school environment, preferably with special education or medically fragile populations
- Ability and willingness to assist with toileting and personal care for students requiring support
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience working with diverse learners
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Location: Olathe, KS—a K-12 school district serving a broad student population within the Kansas City metropolitan area.
This contract position runs through the current school year with an immediate start and opportunities available through May 21, 2026.
