Seeking two Bus Aides to support K-12 students in a school environment for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position offers part-time hours with a typical schedule of 3 hours per day, totaling approximately 15 hours per week. Responsibilities will include assisting students during transportation to and from school, providing support consistent with a 1:1 or 2:1 caseload.
Location: Santa Ana, CA
Duration: Current School Year (CSY) contract through May 29, 2026, with potential for Extended School Year (ESY) and continuation for the 2026-2027 school year.
Schedule Details:
- Morning hours approximately 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM
- Afternoon hours approximately 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
- 90 minutes in the morning and 90 minutes in the afternoon
Key Responsibilities:
- Ride with the student on the bus to and from school
- Accompany the driver to pick up the student at home and ensure safe transport back to school
- Provide support tailored to the student’s individual needs
- Assist students with behavioral de-escalation when necessary
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment during transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with special needs children
- Familiarity with verbal de-escalation techniques
- Previous experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant is valued
- Comfort riding the bus with students during transport
