A K-12 educational setting in Wilmington, MA, is seeking two Paraprofessionals to support students throughout the school year under a contract term. These roles focus on providing direct assistance to students with diverse needs, including specialized support for life skills development.
Position 1: Life Skills Educational Assistant
Schedule: 8:00 AM to 2:35 PM
This position involves working closely with students requiring additional support to develop their life skills in an inclusive, structured environment. The ideal candidate will contribute to fostering a safe, encouraging atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with daily instructional activities tailored to student life skills development
- Supporting classroom management and safety procedures
- Collaborating with educators and specialists to implement individualized education plans
- Monitoring student progress and reporting observations to instructional staff
- Promoting student independence and positive social interactions
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings as a paraprofessional or teaching assistant
- Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning needs
- Safety Care Certification is preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, reliability, and a commitment to student success
