A specialized opportunity is available for a Physical Therapist with experience in school settings to provide leave coverage on a full-time basis. This position serves students from PreK through High School across multiple sites within a K-12 educational environment. The role requires a professional equipped to manage a diverse caseload including students with physical and multiple disabilities, ranging from mild to severe.
Location: Arvada, CO
Position Type: Contract, Leave Coverage (4/6 – 5/22)
Setting: K-12 Schools
Schedule: Full-time hours
Caseload: Approximately 55 students across 6 sites
Role: Itinerant Physical Therapist, with PTA support at the three largest schools
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy services to students with a variety of disabilities including physical and multiple disabilities.
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student goals.
- Manage therapy caseload itinerantly across multiple school sites.
- Utilize knowledge of pediatric mobility equipment to enhance student function and participation.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation including IEP writing.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification required.
- Prior experience working in Colorado schools with a strong background in IEP development.
- Expertise in pediatric mobility devices and interventions.
- Ability to work independently while traveling between multiple school locations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
