A contract opportunity is available for a Physical Therapist specializing in healthcare and school settings, supporting elementary-aged students in Tacoma, WA. This position spans the 2025-2026 school year, providing vital physical therapy services within an educational environment.
Assignment Details:
- Duration: September 3, 2025 – June 16, 2026
- Weekly Hours: 35
- Caseload: Approximately 50 students, Pre-K through 12th grade
- Location: On-site in Tacoma, WA (No virtual options)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized physical therapy evaluations and treatments to students within the school setting
- Develop and implement comprehensive therapy plans that support student mobility and functional independence
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy services and student progress in compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insights to support student development
Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist eligible to practice in Washington State
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably within school or healthcare environments
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy interventions appropriate for ages Pre-K through 12
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, families, and educational staff
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and maintain detailed records
