A middle school in El Cajon, CA is seeking a dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide 1:1 support during the current school year. This contract position offers a consistent schedule of 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 32.5 hours per week.
In this role, you will support a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) exhibiting avoidance and peer conflict behaviors. Your responsibilities will include implementing ABA-based behavior interventions, collecting and tracking data on the student’s progress, and collaborating closely with teachers, behavior specialists, and parents to foster a positive and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized, 1:1 ABA support tailored to the student’s needs
- Apply behavior intervention strategies addressing avoidance and peer conflict
- Collect, organize, and analyze data to monitor student progress
- Maintain effective communication with the educational team and family members
- Demonstrate professionalism and employ de-escalation techniques during challenging moments
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential through the BACB (required)
- Current CPI certification (required)
- Experience working with students with ASD preferred
- Ability to remain calm and implement de-escalation strategies effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
