A school district in Kent, WA, is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time contract position offers an opportunity to provide essential behavioral support to middle school students in both home and school settings. The role is ideal for candidates skilled in one-on-one behavior interventions, adept at working independently, and experienced in collaborating with families.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
  • Work schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 7:30 am to 2:15 pm; Wednesday from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm
  • Contract duration: Immediate start through June 23, 2026
  • Caseload focused on secondary school students
  • Locations: In-home visits and school sites

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one behavioral support tailored to individual student needs
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques, anxiety-reduction strategies, and trauma-informed practices
  • Serve as the sole behavior technician in a family home environment with active caregiver and sibling presence
  • Model and coach parents and caregivers on behavior intervention plans when applicable
  • Establish and maintain rapport with students who may exhibit reluctance toward returning to structured educational settings

Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Certified Behavior Technician (CBT)
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students in educational or home settings
  • Proficiency in behavior support strategies, de-escalation, and caregiver coaching
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
