A Registered Nurse (RN) with specialized school nursing experience is needed to support multiple programs dedicated to students with unique medical needs. This contract position is based in Aurora, IL, serving middle school and other specialized educational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor students for seizures and other health concerns throughout the school day.
- Administer g-tube feedings, tracheostomy care, and diabetic support as necessary.
- Provide nursing coverage across various classrooms when assigned students have partial attendance.
- Support students in the Supportive Medical Needs Program (K-1), Structured Learning Environment Program (middle school), and Transition Program (ages 18-22).
- Accompany students during transportation as needed, ensuring medical safety and comfort.
- Perform medication administration and implement individualized health plans.
- Work collaboratively with educational staff to promote a safe and healthy learning environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) is required.
- Experience in school nursing with strong skills in seizure monitoring.
- Proficiency in g-tube feeding, tracheostomy care, and diabetes management preferred.
- Ability to adapt to different classroom settings and individual student needs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to student well-being and collaborative teamwork.
Location & Schedule:
- Primarily based in Aurora, IL with activity in nearby Lisle and Naperville facilities.
- Full-time contract position.
- Work hours from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, 37.5 hours per week.
