Per Diem Registered Nurse School Setting in Hemet, CA

A healthcare professional with school nursing experience is needed to provide per diem coverage in a K-12 educational setting located in Hemet, CA. This position offers flexible, as-needed substitutes coverage throughout the school year.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct hearing and vision screenings, particularly for IEP and special needs students
• Manage and update care plans and health plans for students
• Support Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) by advising on medication administration and handling various situations
• Respond to emergency situations on an on-call basis, covering multiple schools as assigned in coordination with direct hire nurses

Qualifications:

• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to work in California
• Certification as a School Nurse (CSN) highly preferred
• Prior experience specifically in school nursing is required; candidates must be familiar and comfortable in the school nurse role with no room for training
• Ability to perform hearing and vision screenings accurately
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations within schools

This role requires flexibility to work across several schools and the ability to work independently while supporting school health services.
