School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Joliet, Illinois

A K-12 school in Joliet, IL is seeking a registered nurse (RN) with school nursing experience for a contract position during the normal school year (NSY). This role is ideal for RNs who specialize in providing health services within an educational setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care and health assessments to students in a K-12 school environment
• Manage chronic and acute health conditions, including medication administration and emergency response
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans in collaboration with families, staff, and healthcare providers
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school policies and regulatory standards
• Promote health education and wellness initiatives among students and staff
• Coordinate with school personnel to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment

Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license
• Previous experience as a school nurse or in school nursing services
• Knowledge of general pediatric health issues commonly observed in school-aged children
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion
• CPR and first aid certification preferred
