A Registered Nurse with specialized school nursing skills is needed to provide comprehensive medical care for students in several educational programs in the Naperville and Lisle, IL area. This full-time, contract position spans multiple sites serving children from kindergarten through transition-age young adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor students with seizures and provide direct nursing care throughout the school day.
  • Administer G-tube feedings and medications as required.
  • Support students with tracheostomy and diabetes management when applicable.
  • Accompany students on bus transportation as part of care duties.
  • Cover additional classrooms and support staff when students are not in attendance due to partial school day schedules.
  • Collaborate with the Supportive Medical Needs Program, Structured Learning Environment Program, and Transition Program to ensure holistic and continuous care.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with PEL (Professional Educator License) required.
  • Experience in school nursing and pediatric medical needs essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage seizures, G-tube feedings, tracheostomy care, and diabetic protocols.
  • Familiarity with specialized educational programs and structured learning environments preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively coordinate care across multiple sites.

Work Schedule and Locations:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM.
  • Assignments include middle school classrooms, transition-age programs, and bus rides between Naperville and Lisle, IL.
