Registered Nurse School Setting - Trenton, NJ

A professional registered nurse (RN) is needed to provide school health services at an elementary school setting in Trenton, NJ. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY), offering the opportunity to deliver comprehensive care to young students in an educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer first aid and assess student health concerns promptly and accurately
• Manage chronic conditions such as asthma or allergies, and coordinate care plans with families and healthcare providers
• Perform health screenings, immunization record tracking, and manage medication administration according to state and district guidelines
• Provide health education and promote wellness initiatives to students, staff, and families
• Maintain accurate health records and comply with school policies and nursing standards
• Respond to emergencies and collaborate with school staff to ensure student safety

Qualifications:

• Current, valid RN license
• Experience in school nursing preferred, especially within elementary school settings
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents
• Sound knowledge of pediatric nursing and health promotion in school-age populations
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• CPR and First Aid certification required or obtained upon hiring
