A school psychologist opportunity is available in the Virginia Beach area to support elementary students in a contract role through the end of 2025. This position plays a vital role in promoting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and testing to evaluate student needs.
- Participate actively in all student-focused meetings, including Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD), reevaluation, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement appropriate educational plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- State licensure as a School Psychologist is required.
- Active Department of Education certification is essential.
- Experience working with elementary-age students is preferred.
- Candidates ranging from new graduates to those with several years of experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and parents effectively.
Additional Details:
- Contract period: January 5, 2026 through June 16, 2026.
- School day hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Caseload and number of schools assigned will vary by placement; open to full-time or part-time availability.
- Position is on-site and not open to hybrid or remote arrangements.
