An opportunity is available for a skilled School Psychologist to support a K-12 educational setting in Jamaica, NY, for a full semester contract. This role offers the chance to apply psychological principles to enhance student learning and well-being within a dynamic school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for students across K-12 grade levels
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies
- Provide counseling and support services to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Consult with teachers and staff to promote positive learning environments and address academic concerns
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to data-driven decision-making
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification or license in School Psychology
- Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of assessment tools, intervention strategies, and relevant educational laws
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and school personnel
- Ability to manage caseloads efficiently and adapt to the evolving needs of the school community
