An opportunity is available for a School Psychologist to provide specialized support within an early childhood education setting. This contract position, located in Oxon Hill, MD, focuses on evaluating young children as part of a Preschool Child Find team serving the broader county area. The role offers approximately 24 hours per week with a flexible work arrangement, combining in-person assessments and observations with remote report writing and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and observations for preschool-aged children.
  • Collaborate with the Preschool Child Find team to identify developmental needs and recommend appropriate interventions.
  • Prepare detailed reports based on assessments and communicate findings effectively with educators, families, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings remotely.
  • Support efforts to meet child find mandates across the county.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
  • Experience working with early childhood populations, particularly within a preschool or early intervention setting.
  • Strong skills in assessment, observation, and report writing.
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility in scheduling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable in both in-person and virtual environments.

Location:

  • Early childhood school in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

This leave replacement role is expected to continue through July 2026, providing consistent, vital psychological support to young learners and their families.
