A school psychologist opportunity is available for an elementary school assignment in the Virginia Beach area, starting January 5, 2026, through June 16, 2026. This contract position offers the chance to work within Chesapeake Public Schools, delivering essential psychological services to support student success in an elementary school environment.
Responsibilities for this role include conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, attending Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, re-evaluation meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. The psychologist will work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement interventions that meet the needs of students. The caseload will primarily focus on elementary-aged students, and the school day runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Qualified candidates should possess:
- State licensure as a school psychologist
- Active Department of Education (DOE) certification
- Ability to administer and interpret psychological tests
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to work full-time or part-time, with hours to be determined
- Open to new graduates
This position does not offer remote or hybrid work options and requires on-site presence for the duration of the contract.
