An early childhood school in Rockville, MD, is seeking a skilled School Psychologist for a contract position lasting through the current school year. This role offers approximately 24 hours per week, providing focused support within an engaging and nurturing educational setting.

The successful candidate will be part of the Preschool Child Find team, conducting comprehensive evaluations of young children across the county. This position is integral to identifying developmental needs and assisting in the planning of appropriate interventions to support each child’s early learning journey. Coverage is expected to extend from March through July 2026, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a critical developmental period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments for preschool-aged children referred through the Child Find program.
  • Interpret evaluation results and collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized recommendations.
  • Provide clear, concise reports and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
  • Support early intervention planning and referral processes to appropriate services.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
  • Experience with early childhood assessments and familiarity with developmental screening tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families and educational professionals.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in early childhood psychology and intervention.
