A full-time and part-time opportunity is available for a skilled School Psychologist to serve K-12 students in Silver Spring, MD, for the 2025-2026 school year on a contract basis. This role focuses on providing comprehensive psychological services aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and supporting their academic and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person counseling services tailored to students’ IEP goals, documenting sessions accurately using MOIEP and related tracking systems.
- Travel to assigned schools for evaluation and consultation purposes, utilizing personal transportation as needed.
- Conduct formal psychological assessments assessing cognitive and behavioral functioning; prepare detailed Comprehensive Psychological Reports.
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, parents/guardians, and interdisciplinary team members during IEP, 504 Plan, and child-find meetings.
- Develop and update IEP progress reports and present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFPs) based on assessment findings.
- Communicate assessment results, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations to support student eligibility and educational planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum one-year experience conducting formal psychological evaluations and writing comprehensive reports to support special education eligibility.
- At least one year of counseling students with respect to IEP goals in a school environment.
- Experience collaborating on multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement IEPs.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists licensure is required prior to permanent appointment; applicants without a Maryland license may apply and obtain licensure subsequently.
- Valid Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license is required for travel to multiple school sites.
