This opportunity is for a skilled professional in school psychology or psychometrics to support a K-12 school in Trussville, AL during the current school year on a contract basis. The role focuses on identifying and addressing the unique educational and emotional needs of students by providing thorough evaluations, counseling, and collaboration with educators and families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting psychological evaluations and screenings to identify students with disabilities or special needs
  • Interviewing and observing students in educational settings to gather comprehensive background information
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and support Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Preparing detailed reports that become part of the student's official school record
  • Administering and scoring a variety of psychological and neuropsychological tests accurately and efficiently
  • Recording test results, addressing unexpected outcomes, and ensuring evaluations meet legal and institutional timelines
  • Assisting with research by collecting and analyzing psychometric data, following established protocols
  • Providing support to school staff in completing evaluations and assessments necessary for student eligibility determination

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Credentialed as a School Psychologist or Psychometrist, with relevant experience in K-12 educational settings
  • Strong knowledge of psychological testing, evaluation procedures, and legal requirements in schools
  • Excellent observational, interviewing, and report-writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on student success
