A school is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support elementary students with hearing impairments. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an inclusive educational environment by facilitating effective communication between students and teachers.

Setting: Elementary School
Schedule: Onsite, full-day 7:45 AM – 3:15 PM; afternoon-only hours from 11:00 AM – 3:15 PM may also be considered
Duration: Contract through 5/22/2026
Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation for elementary students in classroom and school activities
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and other school personnel to promote student engagement and learning
• Adapt interpretation techniques to meet the needs of individual students
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably with experience in educational settings
• Valid certification or licensure; a provisional license may be accepted if EIPA is below 4.0
• Strong understanding of elementary education environments and specialized communication needs
• Ability to work onsite during scheduled hours
