A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available to support K-12 students in a school setting, with a commitment running through the end of the 2025-2026 academic year. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with diverse age groups, with placement tailored to your preferences, ensuring a meaningful and impactful educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff
- Interpret educational content during classroom instruction and school activities
- Collaborate with educators and support teams to ensure accessibility and inclusion
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting skills, with demonstrated ability to interpret academic material
- Prior experience working in educational environments preferred, especially K-12 settings
- Strong understanding of deaf culture and communication needs
- Ability to work full-time, providing interpretation services for up to 35 hours per week
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet varied student age groups and needs
