Provide expert sign language interpretation services for K-12 students in a dynamic school environment located in Broken Arrow, OK. This contract role involves essential direct support to high school students, including one-on-one assistance to a general education student and part-time support for a student with severe and profound needs. The position offers a collaborative setting with schedules from Monday to Friday, primarily from 8:40 AM to 4:15 PM, and requires occasional movement between nearby buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear and accurate sign language interpretation for high school students to facilitate effective communication.
  • Support a 1:1 setting with a general education high school student for 35 to 37.5 hours weekly.
  • Provide part-time support for a student with severe and profound disabilities on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
  • Accompany the student to another building (less than a mile away) for additional academic assistance.
  • Maintain professional and confidential relationships with students, staff, and families to promote an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 4.0 or higher, or NAD/RID certification.
  • Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) Level III or higher.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in sign language interpretation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of K-12 educational settings and ability to adapt interpretation strategies accordingly.
