This full-time Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is based at a middle school located approximately 40 minutes north of Seattle, in the Everett, WA area. The assignment involves providing 1:1 support to a middle school student, facilitating effective communication in an educational setting. This contract position spans the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear and effective sign language interpretation to a middle school student during classroom instruction and school activities.
  • Support educational access by facilitating communication between the student, teachers, and peers.
  • Adapt communication strategies to meet the individual needs of the student.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure a supportive learning environment.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, particularly in educational settings.
  • Ability to work directly with middle school-aged students in one-on-one environments.
  • Competency to provide support if academic records do not meet a 4.0 GPA, with potential classification as a paraprofessional.
  • Strong understanding of Deaf culture and educational requirements.

  • Middle school in Everett, Washington, approximately 40 minutes north of Seattle.
