A dynamic opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter to support an elementary school setting in Everett, WA. This contract role involves providing one-on-one interpretation services for a middle school student, fostering effective communication and inclusion within the classroom environment during the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation tailored to the individual needs of the student.
  • Facilitate communication between the student, educators, and peers.
  • Adapt interpretation strategies to support the learning and social integration of the student.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to promote an inclusive and accessible classroom environment.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with a willingness to support students even with a lower EIPA score.
  • Experience working in school settings, particularly with children or adolescents in elementary or middle school.
  • Ability to function effectively as a paraprofessional when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to meet individual student needs.

Location: Everett, WA
