ASL Interpreter | Franklin, Tennessee

This opportunity is for skilled Sign Language Interpreters to provide essential services in K-12 public schools within the Franklin, TN area. The role supports general education students across middle and high school settings, focusing on effective communication access and inclusion for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver clear, accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, school events, and meetings.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate an inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards at all times.
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet diverse student needs in dynamic school settings.

Qualifications and Experience:

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required.
• Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings preferred.
• Ability to interpret for middle and high school students in a general education environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in sign language interpreting.

Position Details:

• Location: Franklin area, TN (on-site at middle and high schools).
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
• Contract duration: Current school year through May 22, 2026.
• Assignments include two middle schools and one high school.

Compensation:

• Competitive pay rates based on experience, ranging from $40 to $52 per hour.
