Sign Language Interpreter in Fremont, CA

An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a high school student aged 14 during the 25/26 school year. This contract position requires a commitment of 33 hours per week, providing essential communication access within a high school setting located in Fremont, CA.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification with a minimum of 4.0 in EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) or RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf)
• Proven experience interpreting in educational environments, preferably high school level
• Ability to effectively interpret American Sign Language to facilitate student learning and engagement
• Strong communication skills and professionalism in a school environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and timely sign language interpreting for a high school student aged 14 throughout the school day
• Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers to support academic success
• Adhere to confidentiality standards and maintain a professional, respectful demeanor
• Collaborate with educational staff to ensure appropriate interpretation services are provided during classes and school activities
