ASL Interpreter | Lincoln, Nebraska

A school-based contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support elementary students within a vibrant educational environment in Lincoln, NE. This role involves providing effective communication access in classroom and related settings to ensure equal participation for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate accurate and clear sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, students, and families to support communication needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development as required.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a minimum EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 4.0.
• Strong fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of educational settings.
• Experience interpreting in K-12 elementary schools preferred.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work onsite during scheduled hours.

Position Details:

• Location: Elementary School in Lincoln, NE.
• Schedule: Onsite from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday. Afternoon-only shifts from 11:00 AM to 3:15 PM are also available.
• Contract Duration: Current school year with an end date of May 22, 2026.
• Caseload: Elementary level students.
