An opportunity is available for a dedicated professional skilled in sign language interpretation within an educational setting. This role focuses on providing essential communication support to a high school student requiring individualized assistance.

Qualifications:

  • Sign language interpreter certification for the state of Idaho.
  • Background in behavioral support, particularly with students on the autism spectrum.
  • Experience working collaboratively with special education teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to adapt to varying classroom environments and needs.

Location: Grace, ID

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for a 9th-grade student with low functioning ASD.
  • Collaborate closely with the special education teacher to support educational goals.
  • Assist in interpreting for elective classes as needed, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
  • Maintain professional standards and stay updated on best practices in interpretation and behavioral support.
  • Document and track student progress and communicate effectively with educational staff.
