A contract position is available for a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide 1:1 support for a 3rd-grade student. This role will cover a leave from July 1st to August 13th, with working hours from 7:45 AM to 1:45 PM, totaling 30 hours per week.
Location:
- Position is based in Marietta, GA, with openings also in Douglasville and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 interpreting services for a 3rd-grade elementary student.
- Support the student during half the day with the Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH).
- Facilitate communication and inclusion during the student’s time in the general education classroom.
- Adapt communication methods to the student's needs and classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with experience interpreting in educational settings.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with educators.
- Experience supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (preferred).
- Professionalism and confidentiality in managing student information.
