A school-based opportunity is available for skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support K-12 students in a dynamic educational setting located in the Metairie, LA area. This contract role is designed for experienced professionals holding an active Louisiana DOE Certification, with the position starting as soon as possible through May 22, 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services for K-12 students, ensuring effective communication access in classroom and school activities.
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to support student learning and inclusion.
• Adapt interpretation techniques to meet the diverse needs of students across multiple schools, with specific caseload and school assignments to be determined.
• Maintain compliance with state and district regulations pertaining to deaf and hard-of-hearing services.

Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana DOE Certification in Sign Language Interpreting.
• Proven experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly K-12.
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language and cultural competencies.
• Ability to work 35 hours per week, typically 7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
• Flexibility and professionalism to manage assignments across different schools within the district.
