Sign Language Interpreter in Moncks Corner, SC

An opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support within a K-12 educational setting. This contract position spans the full school year and is located in Moncks Corner, SC.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa to facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers and peers
• Collaborating with educators and staff to ensure accessibility and support for students requiring sign language services
• Participating in meetings and educational activities to assist with communication needs
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language with proven interpreting experience
• Familiarity with educational settings and terminology preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and support staff
• Relevant certification or credentials as a sign language interpreter is highly desirable
